Regional Blood Center Jamshoro Project
Project description :
KfW – German Development Bank constructred four state of the art Regional Blood Centers (RBCs) in Sindh in 2015. The GoS in 2018, contracted out O&M of RBC and establishment of seven below-mentioned hospital-based blood banks (HBBs) with the objective of improving safe blood transfusion in line with the international standards:
1) Civil Hospital Jamshoro.
2)LUMS Hospital City Branch Hyderabad.
3) Civil Hospital Thatta.
4) DHQ Hospital Matiari.
5) Civil Hospital Badin.
6) Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas.
7) Civil Hospital Tharparker at Mithi.
Public Benefits/ Impact: Provision of screened safe blood bags to public through seven Hospital Blood Banks (HBBs) developed in public hospitals. Capacity building of general staff.
