Regional Blood Center Shaheed
Benazirabad Project

KfW – German Development Bank constructed four state of the art Regional Blood Centers (RBCs) in Sindh in 2015. The GoS in 2018, contracted out O&M of RBC and establishment of seven below-mentioned hospital-based blood banks (HBBs) with the objective of improving safe blood transfusion in line with the international standards:

1) Civil Hospital UmerKot;

2) Institute of Health Shahdadpur;

3) Civil Hospital Sanghar;

4) Civil Hospital NausheroFeroz;

5) Civil Hospital Dadu;

6) THQ Hospital Moro and

7) Civil Hospital Shaheed Benazirabad Blood Bank

Public Benefits/ Impact: Provision of screened safe blood bags to public through seven Hospital Blood Banks (HBBs) developed in public hospitals. Capacity building of general staff.
