Supply and Operation of busses for Yellow Line

Project description :

Karachi, one of the most populous metropolitan cities in the world, faces significant challenges due to the lack of an adequate public transport system, making daily commuting difficult. To address this issue, the Transport & Mass Transit Department has initiated the Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) project under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

The trunk of BRT corridor spans 21 kilometers, starting from Dawood Chowrangi and ending at Numaish, with an extension to Tower via a shared corridor. This includes 17.6 kilometers of at-grade infrastructure and a 3.4-kilometer section constructed as an underpass. The project is expected to serve approximately 300,000 passengers daily and benefit around 700,000 residents.

The preliminary and operational designs for the corridor have been completed. Designed as a 3rd Generation BRT system, the Yellow Line will align with other BRT corridors in Karachi and integrate seamlessly into the broader Karachi Public Transport Network, known as Breeze.
